All components of the center stud kit are also available separately:
$5.50 - 71075-47 cover screw
20¢ - 6466 washer
$8 - 71067-47 center stud
$2 - 71069-47 lock washer
$2 - 7848 nut

Original center studs are internally threaded on both ends.  On the top for the cover screw and on the bottom to accept a control cable outer core.  This is used when the optional choke control kit was installed.  Reproduction center studs are only threaded on the top for the cover screw.  If you are planning to install a choke control kit make sure you have an original center stud on your dash.

Here's a photo of an unusual stud and lock washer that came in on one base.  It's the only one I've seen like it.  I assume this is from the initial production in 1947 and the parts were subsequently revised.  If anyone has this style on their original 47 bike please email me so we can confirm when it was used.
